Eligibility and Details
Scheme Overview
The Minority Welfare Department is providing financial assistance under the "Imbichi Bawa Housing Renovation Scheme" for widows / divorcees / abandoned women belonging to the Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi, and Jain minority communities. The financial assistance is provided to improve the basic infrastructure of houses that lack proper windows/doors, roofs/flooring/finishing, plumbing, sanitation/electrification.
Financial assistance of ₹50,000/- is provided for the repair of a house. This amount does not need to be repaid. The maximum area of the house in the name of the applicant/spouse should not exceed 1200 sq.ft. The applicant must be the income provider for the family. Priority will be given to BPL families. Preference will also be given to applicants who are physically or mentally challenged, have only daughters/no children.
Widows with children who receive a steady income from government/semi-government institutions, or those who have previously received assistance for housing construction from the government or similar agencies within the last 10 years, need not apply again. Applications must be submitted through the application form specially prepared by the department.
Required Documents
The following documents must be submitted along with the filled application form:
- Copy of the 2025-26 financial year land tax receipt in the name of the applicant/spouse.
- Copy of the ration card.
- Certificate from the authorized official of the concerned local self-government institution to prove the house needs repair, to prove the area of the house, and to prove that the applicant has not received any housing construction/renovation benefit from other departments/similar agencies within the last 10 years.
Application Submission
The completed application along with supporting documents can be submitted directly to the Minority Welfare Section in the respective District Collectorate, or by post to the Deputy Collector (General), District Minority Welfare Section, District Collectorate, in the respective District Collectorate.

Important Dates
The last date for receiving applications at the respective District Collectorates is July 31, 2025.
Documents to be Submitted
The following documents must be self-attested and submitted with the application:
- Copy of Ration Card
- Copy of the Land Tax Receipt for the financial year 2025-26 in own name / spouse's name.
- Permanent Residence Certificate obtained from the Local Self Government Institution.
- Copy of Husband's Death Certificate if widow
- Copy of the certificate proving divorce or abandonment if divorced/abandoned.
- Certificate from the authorized official of the Local Self-Government Institution for house repair and proof of the house area.
- Certificate from the authorized official of the concerned Local Self-Government Institution proving that the applicant has not received any benefits for housing renovation or housing construction within 10 years from other departments or similar agencies.
- If the applicant or their children have mental/physical challenges / cancer kidney problems / heart disease / liver disease, paralysis or other serious illnesses, copy of the documents proving the same.
- If there is a difference between the name in the ration card and the name in the application, a certificate proving that the two are the same.
Applications without the mandatory documents will not be considered under any circumstances.
