The prospectus for admission to the Diploma programs for the academic year 2025-26 has been approved by the Kerala Government and is published herewith. It contains general information and rules regarding the admission process and other related matters. Candidates are requested to read the prospectus carefully to familiarize themselves with all relevant information related to admission. The prospectus issued in previous years is not valid for the academic year 2025-26.

The prospectus outlines the rules and regulations for selection and admission to Diploma programs approved by AICTE/COA and conducted by institutions affiliated with SBTE Kerala under the Directorate of Technical Education/IHRD/CAPE/LBS. Admission to these programs is based on merit, evaluated by giving weightage to marks/grades obtained in the qualifying examination.

Applicants need to visit the admission portal for notifications and announcements.

This prospectus is subject to changes/additions/deletions that the Government deems necessary.

Applications can be submitted online after one-time registration on the admission portal.

i) One-time registration is mandatory for all candidates. Candidates wishing to apply for diploma programs must register on the admission portal by paying a fee of Rs. 200/- (this will be Rs. 100/- for SC/ST candidates).

ii) After one-time registration, applications must be submitted separately for seats in the following categories:

a) Government quota seats in Government/Government Aided programs/IHRD/CAPE/LBS/Self-Financing programs/Special batch for the Hearing Impaired (HI)
b) Application for NCC quota seats.

c) Application for Sports quota seats.

d) Applications for Management quota seats.

e) Candidates seeking admission to Aided/Self-financing Management seats, programs in Aided Polytechnic Colleges, and Management seats in Self-financing Polytechnic Colleges must submit applications online separately for each institution they prefer through the "Applications for Management Quota Seats" link on the admission portal.

For allotting to various programs and polytechnic colleges, the Centralized Allotment Process will be conducted through the Single Window System (SWS), based on the options/re-options exercised by the candidates. Applicants can use a maximum of 30 options (program and institution combination). For example: Chemical Engineering at Government Polytechnic College, Kalamassery can be one option, and Mechanical Engineering at Government Polytechnic College, Cherthala can be another option. A maximum of 30 options can be given in an application form. Allotments will be based on the options used, rank obtained, and eligible reservation. Applicants should only give options for programs/colleges in which they are sure to join if allotted.

Ensure the following during One-Time Registration

  • The applicant must have passed SSLC or equivalent examination. Candidates must have studied Mathematics, Science, and English for the Engineering stream (Stream I) and Mathematics and English for the Management stream (Stream II).
  • Those who have passed CBSE 10th with Mathematics Basic need not apply.
  • The mobile number registered in the application must belong to the applicant and must be maintained until the admission process is completed.
  • When submitting the information required for One-Time Registration, a link to pay the registration fee will be received after mobile OTP verification. Those who are unable to pay the fee in this way can later pay the fee or check the status of the fee payment through the "CHECK/RETRY PAYMENT" link on the admission portal homepage.
  • The GRN number initially received while making online payment is very important and applicants must keep it compulsorily. GRN number is mandatory for all inquiries regarding fee payment.
  • For doubts related to One-Time Registration / Online Application Submission / Polytechnic Admission, teachers' mobile numbers available at the help desks in all polytechnic colleges can be contacted. The numbers are available in the "CONTACT US" link in the admission portal.
  • Once One-Time Registration is completed, applications can be submitted to Govt. / Govt. Aided / CAPE / IHRD Polytechnic Colleges and various self-financing polytechnics and NCC / Sports quotas in the state. There is no separate fee for submitting applications.
  • One-Time Registration is only the first step in the procedure for applying for admission to polytechnic colleges. Application for admission to various polytechnic colleges can be submitted only after paying the registration fee and completing the registration.
