Online Application Process
You can now obtain an accident GD entry via your mobile phone. The Kerala Police website provides a service to facilitate this, eliminating the need to visit the station.
Initially, you must register on the website by providing your mobile number and verifying the OTP. Then, click on "Services" in the app and select the "Request Accident GD" service. One-time registration allows you to access various police-related services.
The first step involves entering details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, and address. Following this, you must submit identification documents, accident details, and upload a photo of the accident scene. After adding vehicle details, you can submit the application.
After the police complete their review, the GD entry will be approved. You can then print it out from the app as needed. The police warn that in some cases, the vehicle may be inspected before the certificate is issued.
Important Considerations
A GD entry is usually sufficient for insurance claims related to minor accidents and vehicle damage. However, in the case of major accidents, serious injuries, or fatalities, a GD entry alone is insufficient. The police will need to prepare a preliminary investigation report and conduct an investigation. In such instances, you should contact the police station.
