Toolkit Grant for Artisans: Apply Now

Craftspeople can now apply for the Toolkit Grant and financial assistance for pottery workers. The deadline is June 15, 2025.
Applications are invited for the Toolkit Grant for traditional artisans for the year 2025-26. The annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Applicants must be under 60 years of age. Applications must be submitted by May 31st. For more information, contact the regional offices of the Backward Classes Development Department.

Eligibility Criteria and Guidelines for the Scheme Providing Skill Development Training and Grants for Tools to Traditional Artisans

1. Applicants must belong to the list of other backward communities (OBC) engaged in traditional handicraft work in the state.
2. The applicant must be a native of Kerala.
3. The applicant must currently be engaged in traditional handicraft work.
4. The family's annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
5. The maximum grant for eligible applicants will be Rs. 20,000/-.
6. The maximum age limit for submitting the application is 60 years.
7. Those who have received benefits under the same scheme in previous years or their family members need not apply.
8. Preference will be given to those with more than two daughters/persons with disabilities/those with more than 10 years of work experience.
9. If required, selected applicants will be given training in the relevant field for a maximum of 3 months. Those who successfully complete the training will be selected for the Toolkit Grant. Those who have already received training can apply for the Toolkit Grant alone.
10. Applicants should not apply for the same purpose from local self-government agencies or from KADCO institutions or the government if they have already received benefits.
11. The maximum amount for training expenses, stipend, and toolkit will be sanctioned in two installments to those selected. The second installment will be released upon receipt and submission of the utilization certificate for the first installment.
12. Tools should be selected according to the applicant's profession. Tools must be of ISI/BIS standard.
13. Applicants can purchase tools from agencies of suitable quality.
14. This financial assistance scheme is for purchasing modern equipment for traditional job innovation. Standard equipment/tools should be purchased.
15. The grant amount should not be used as working capital.
16. Only applications submitted online will be considered.
17. The applicant's own e-mail address and mobile number must be clearly stated in the application.
18. Under no circumstances should an applicant register more than once.
19. The number and security code of the income certificate obtained from the revenue authority through e-district within the year must be recorded in the online application. Annual income will be one of the criteria for selecting beneficiaries.
20. Bank account details in the name of the applicant must be recorded when registering online. Otherwise, the eligibility for financial assistance will be lost. Bank accounts in the name of family members or others will not be considered under any circumstances. Make sure the account you are entering is active.
21. Applicants must upload proof of caste, work experience certificate (can be obtained from the Chairman/President or Secretary of the Local Self Government Institution), and a copy of the Aadhaar card online. The printout of the application form and related documents need not be sent to the Backward Classes Development Department.
22. All further announcements regarding this scheme will be published on the websites www.bcdd.kerala.gov.in and www.bwin.kerala.gov.in. There will be no individual notifications.
