Overview of the IBPS Notification
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has announced a notification for the Common Recruitment Process for the recruitment of Customer Service Associates in various public sector banks. This recruitment drive aims to fill over 10,000 vacancies across India.
Vacancies and Eligibility
Number of Vacancies
A total of 10,277 vacancies are available in the participating banks. Kerala has 330 of these vacancies.
Participating Banks
The recruitment process involves several public sector banks, including Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, and Punjab & Sindh Bank.
Salary Scale
The selected candidates will be placed in the salary scale of ₹24,050-64,480 along with other allowances.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline. They should also be proficient in the local language of the state/union territory they are applying from. For Kerala and Lakshadweep, proficiency in Malayalam is essential. Basic computer knowledge is also required.
The qualifying degree must be obtained before August 21, 2025.
Age Limit and Selection Process
Age Criteria
The age of the applicants should be between 20 and 28 years. Candidates should have been born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2005 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for reserved categories.
Selection Procedure
The selection process will be conducted at the state level. It will involve an online preliminary examination followed by a main examination. The preliminary exam is scheduled for October, and the main exam will be held in November. The provisional allotment will be published in March 2026.
Exam Pattern
The preliminary exam consists of 100 questions for 100 marks, focusing on Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The duration of the exam is one hour. Shortlisted candidates from the preliminary exam will be called for the main exam. The main exam will have 155 questions for 200 marks, covering General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude. The duration of the main exam is two hours. The question paper will be available in English, Hindi, and regional languages including Malayalam.
Exam Centers and Application Fee
Exam Centers
Preliminary examination centers in Kerala include Alappuzha, Kannur, Ernakulam, Kollam, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Thrissur.
Application Fee
The application fee is ₹175 for SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates, and ₹850 for all other candidates. The fee must be paid online.
How to Apply
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official IBPS website. Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one state/union territory. Scanned copies of photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, and 10th class certificate should be uploaded along with the application.
