Renewal Application for Merit Scholarship
Renewal applications are being accepted for the State Merit Scholarship for the year 2024-25.
The deadline for submitting renewal applications for the 2023-24 State Merit Scholarship has been extended to August 11, 2025.
Students who gained admission to the first year of degree courses in government-aided Arts & Science, Music, and Sanskrit colleges, as well as University Departments in the state during 2023-24, and who qualified for the State Merit Scholarship, can now submit their renewal applications for the 2024-25 academic year until August 11, 2025.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered under any circumstances.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have been eligible for the State Merit Scholarship (Fresh) in the year 2023-24.
- Applicants must have passed the first-year degree examination in their first attempt and secured 50% marks or above.
Scholarship Amount
₹10,000/- (Ten Thousand Rupees) per year.
Other Related Information
1) Applicants must have their own account in any bank with IFSC code facility.
2) Students are selected from Science, Commerce, and Humanities subjects in the ratio of 1:1:1.
3) This scholarship is awarded continuously for 5 years from the degree level to students studying in aided Arts & Science, Music, and Sanskrit colleges based on +2 marks.
4) ₹10,000/- per year is granted to 1050 students who have 95% and above marks, irrespective of income limit.
5) ₹10,000/- per year is granted to 1050 students who have 90% and above marks, with an income limit of ₹2,50,000/- (Two and a half Lakhs).
6) ₹10,000/- per year is granted to 1050 students belonging to 80 categories with 85% and above marks.
Selection is based on the marks obtained in academic qualification. Students receiving any other type of scholarship or stipend are not eligible for this scholarship.
How to Apply
Download the application form "State Merit Scholarship (Renewal) 2024-25" from the website of the Collegiate Education Department.
Fill out the application form and submit it along with a self-attested copy of the first-year degree examination mark list, and a copy of the first page of the bank passbook, directly or by post to the following address:

Last Date
The last date for submitting the filled application along with copies of mark lists and bank passbook to the Scholarship Section, Collegiate Education Directorate, Thiruvananthapuram is: August 11, 2025.
Applications received after August 11, 2025, will not be considered.
